I am deeply committed to developing my own understanding of neurodivergence and its intersections.

About Me

I am dyslexic and the work I do comes out of my own in-depth understanding of the barriers that being neurodivergent can create. There is a profound shame that comes from not thriving in a system that is not built for you. The message I got from education was that not much was expected of me and that any aspiration beyond that limit was delusional. I have confounded those expectations.

I have been working in Higher Education for over 13 years, but my experience is lifelong. I embarked on a full-time Psychology degree in my 40’s and then trained as a Specialist 1:1 Support Tutor.

In the subsequent years that I have been working in the field, the understanding of neurodivergence has changed profoundly. It is my belief that the narrow lens of the educational environment is not addressing neurodivergence in a way that empowers neurodivergent individuals to thrive. This is the focus of the work I do.

I specialise in working with adults who have either had a late diagnosis or while having an early diagnosis have not been supported in a way that has allowed them to effectively navigate their neurodivergence.
